What’s All the Excitement Around Midtown Bozeman?
If you think Bozeman isn’t big enough to have a midtown neighborhood, it just goes to show how fast this hip town is growing. As the bad and boujee expands beyond the boundaries of Main Street, the RSVP Hotel sits at the epicenter of new development along Seventh Ave. What’s so great about this up-and-coming player on the BZN neighborhood scene? You heard it here first.
The Best of the Past
The neighborhood’s art deco roots are showing—in the most fab way possible—whiles local entrepreneurs perform the equivalent of a cut, color and blowout on the neighborhood to preserve that classic style while giving it a total revamp.
You can see it in the bones of the RSVP Hotel—formerly the Rainbow Hotel, a 1960s-era motor court. The classic 30-foot sign for the Rainbow still stands strong outside, bringing a flavor of Palm Springs to summer in the BZN (with the addition of a few towering mountain peaks, of course). That Route 66 feel stays alive into the present day, even if you may have traded a classic Cadillac for a Tesla by now.
The Best of this Moment
Rush hour in Bozeman used to mean a cow was crossing the street. Today, as more and more people realize what this town is all about, the population is growing and industry is booming. The benefit of staying in Midtown Bozeman today is that you have the perk of being close and conveniently located within walking or biking distance of everything you could need, while still stepping back a little from the hustle that’s growing in town.
When it’s less than $10 to take a five-minute Uber ride downtown, you’re only freeing up time by shaving some minutes off your morning commute to the mountains. And with easy access to the Story Hill trails and several city parks, you don’t have to go far to experience nature. If bagging peaks is on your itinerary, Seventh is your corridor to the Bridgers, without having to battle left turns on busy Main Street.
Bars and dining greet the Midtown scene, with the Farmer’s Daughters cafe onsite at the RSVP to bring a bit of the LA health scene to the menu offerings. Pick up snacks to take with you on adventures, or sit and enjoy the mason-jar-meets-Paris-bistro atmosphere over a coffee and conversation. And of course, there’s always bubbly on hand to enjoy by the pool.
The Best of Tomorrow
With the ELM concert venue coming January 2020 and more development continuing to unfold along the strip of Seventh Ave, tomorrow will bring even bigger and better things to the Midtown vibe. The ELM brings a mid-sized (1,500 capacity) venue to this active community, spearheaded by Logjam Presents out of Missoula, sure to attract exciting acts from around the country and around the world.
While Midtown may be a well-kept secret to discover today, this neighborhood is already on its way to becoming the next “it” spot.
