Things to Do in Bozeman for All Ages
Bozeman is a bumping town, whether you’re four, forty or eighty five. When you’re planning out a trip for the whole fam and you need to please people of all ages, here are a few activities you should check out.
Delish Breweries
You don’t need to love beer (or even to be able to drink it) to love the beer culture in Bozeman. Breweries are family friendly, and many have food the kids will be stoked to nosh on. At MAP Brewing, the grownups can try a flight or two while the kids run around in the grassy park just off of the patio.
Museum of the Rockies Shenanigans
This museum is one that will leave you all wanting MoR. With cool interactive exhibits and plenty of dinos to get excited about, you can get into the deep reaches of history as a family. Older kids will love the planetarium, while the littlest of littles will be stoked on the animal-themed interactive play area upstairs.
Take a Hike
There’s a scenic walk for every age and ability in the area. Young legs (along with Grandma’s and Grandpa’s) set a pace perfect for the Main Street to the Mountains trail system. If you start your walk over at Lindley Park, you’ll even find that part of the way is paved. Then take the option of climbing up Peets Hill for killer views, or continuing along the wide, flat path as it turns to dirt.
Ride the Lone Peak Tram
A day trip up to Big Sky doesn’t have to mean you’re strapping skis or a board to your feet. Anyone can head up the mountain via enclosed tram car, and all ages will love the wild views through the glass. The season runs from June through September (outside of ski season, of course), and it’s worth planning for. Everyone you’re hanging with can enjoy the opportunity to see three states, two national parks and too many mountain ranges to count, all from 11,166 feet.
Go for a Grizzly Encounter
The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone is definitely a crowd-pleaser. You’ll feel like a kid again getting to see these wild critters up close, and the young ones will be just as wowed. Plus, you know you’re supporting a good cause while you teach the littles how to be safe around critters and learn more about wild predators.
Try out Spire Climbing Center
Strap on some climbing shoes to learn what the Bozeman climbing scene is all about. You might not be ready to take on Everest, but the person on rope next to you at Spire could be training to do just that. This is a great way to try out a fun new activity while getting involved in a little bit of the local adventure culture.
See a Show on Bozeman’s Broadway
Okay, around these parts it’s more “Main Street” than “Old Broadway,” but you can still find plenty of live entertainment in Bozeman. From opera to musicals and live comedy to world-class musicians, you can find a little bit of everything to please your whole group.
