8 Warm Weather Events You Can’t Miss In Bozeman

Posted by RSVP Hotel BZN on 26 June 18, 5:00 am

Look, people think of Winter as the best time to visit Montana. Yeah, the skiing is great, but our best-kept secret is the amazing weather in the summer. Not too hot, not too cold, but just right. We’ve put together a list of the best warm weather events to take in after your day of hiking the trails, floating the river, or touring the parks.

Run to the Pub

Chances of good weather for the Run to the Pub are about 50/50. Sometimes we’re blessed with amazing spring days that make running this 10K or Half Marathon (up to you) a total blast. Participants are rewarded with a Guinness and a chance to win a trip to Ireland after running the route from the south of Bozeman to downtown Bozeman on (or around) St. Patrick’s day. Voted the #2 Best-in-the-U.S. half marathon by Runner’s World, it’s an exciting race with thousands of participants. Definitely worth checking out if you’re headed to Bozeman in March.

Music On Main

Late June to August, Bozeman puts on a pretty good party every Thursday with Music On Main. The Downtown blocks of Main Street are shut down each Thursday evening for Live music, drinks and various food vendors. Enjoy music from popular local acts, everything from country to funk. It’s a great family-friendly event to get down with the local and enjoy the amazing summer evenings.

Artwalk

During the months of June through September, take yourself on a nice stroll through the downtown galleries and the Emerson Center for Art and Culture for a little, well, art and culture. In Partnership with the Downtown Bozeman Association, Businesses and galleries open up their doors on every second Friday of the month, and feature artist openings and other special works with complimentary wine and hors-d’oeuvres. Locals and travelers alike can get a good taste for regional art styles or maybe find something a new to add to their homes.

Montana Shakespeare in the Park

Looking for something a little more low key than live music? Then you should check out Montana Shakespeare in the Parks. This theatre group offers free events all around the state during the summer, bringing Shakespeare and other amazing theatre works to a variety of communities. They do make a few stops in Bozeman during the summer and it’s worth checking out. Did we mention that it’s FREE? Pack up your lawn chair, some snacks, and maybe a blanket to snuggle under if the summer evening gets chilly and enjoy yourself some theatre arts in one of our amazing parks. You can find their performance schedule here.

Bite of Bozeman

Before Bozeman’s annual Sweet Pea festival we get treated with “Bite of Bozeman.” You can expect a warm summer night, crowds of locals and tourists, and over 40 food vendors on Main Street all ready to give you a taste of what Bozeman has to offer. This festive event usually involves live music and plenty of family-friendly fun.

Sweet Pea

Bozeman has no shortage of art and Sweet Pea is one of our most “famed” art festivals. This three-day art festival is held on the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of August. Over 100 arts and crafts vendors come together for this festival not to mention the daily performances by local theatre and dance troupes. We look forward to the nightly music events featuring various music acts touring the nation and the numerous food and beverage vendors who show up to keep us full and hydrated during the numerous festivities.

S.L.A.M.

The SLAM (Support Local Art and Musicians) festival runs in conjunction with the Sweet Pea Festival. SLAM is a nonprofit organization geared at promoting the local artist community and providing scholarships to artists in Montana. Visit the numerous Arts and Crafts booths to find some special gifts for friends and family or maybe just a little treat for yourself. We also love that SLAM is just a quick walk from Sweet Pea. It’s easy to bounce back between the two festivals, checking out different performances and food vendors throughout the day.

Bozeman Stampede PRCA Rodeo

Hey, you’re in Montana so things might get a little “Western.” Summers in Montana means rodeo season. No matter where you travel in the state it’s usually fairly easy to find a rodeo within reach. The Bozeman Stampede PRCA Rodeo has been lighting up the local fairgrounds for over eight years with three nights of family-friendly fun (don’t worry there is adult fun as well). Starting on Thursday night you can catch barrel racing, bull riding, and all the classic rodeo events for a small fee. What’s extra awesome about this rodeo? The Bozeman Stampede is a non-profit rodeo, giving the proceeds to other rodeo organizations. Last year the Bozeman Stampede gave over $25,000 to local rodeo organizations. Now that’s how you keep Montana traditions alive.

When the weather starts getting warmer there is plenty of activities to keep your summer busy. We hope you find some time to check out the awesome events the Bozeman community has to offer.

Honey, we have so much more gossip for you!
